The Detention Club is a high-energy, no-rules show featuring a rotating lineup of some of the finest troublemakers around. We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but when it comes to the music? That’s where we lock in. Expect fun, chaos, and a sound that keeps you coming back for detention

Summer nights are better by the lake, especially with live music and a homestyle BBQ dinner! Join us every Tuesday from June 30 to August 25 for Tuned Up Tuesdays, our summer music series on the boardwalk overlooking beautiful Rice Lake. Enjoy a BBQ brisket dinner prepared fresh on-site, then settle in for live music featuring a lineup of talented local musicians. Emily Burgess, Carling Stephen, The Detention Club, The Arrangements, Al Black and the Steady Band, Carl Jankowski, Keene Country, and Melissa Payne.
We are going to be bringing in some heavy riff makers for this one. Enjoy the patio, the cider and the sweet sweet sounds of Detention in the air. We'll be "airing" another original tune at this Slabtown Cider Co Session.

Pssst…the Rumours are true. This isn’t a tribute — it’s a Detention Club homage to the legendary band Fleetwood Mac and the album we all know and love. We’re diving into Rumours, with a few other epic classics added to the pot. There isn’t one Stevie. There isn’t one Christine. For one night, we all get to be a little of both. Don’t stop - run and reserve a seat. We make loving fun - and Detention. Dreams will be had after this one, so go your own way — just make sure it leads here. Trust us, you don’t want to hear this as second-hand news.

What's The Club?
The Detention Club is a high-energy, genre-blurring band of musical misfits delivering unforgettable shows across Ontario and beyond. With a lineup that flexes from stripped-down solo sets to full-blown 9-piece chaos, every performance is its own kind of riot — rhythm-heavy, vocally rich, and rooted in serious musical chops.
While the band doesn’t take itself too seriously, the music is no joke. Expect tight arrangements, wild moments, and a sound that draws from retro rock, folk grit, and kitchen-party spirit. No two shows are exactly the same — and that’s the point.

-because “the responsible, quiet, well-behaved ensemble” didn't test well……and john Hughes.
Q: What kind of music is this?
-It’s a retro-folky-kitchen-party-rock-n-roll-fever-dream with too many drummers and too much fun. You kind of have to see it to believe it.
Q: Is there really a dress code for Detention?
-Just bring your dancing shoes. Or your steel-toe boots. We don’t judge, but we do stomp.
Q: Who’s in the Club?
-Depends who got caught this week. The lineup rotates, but Club President Caitlin O’Connor is always present and accounted for. Different combinations, same Detention sentence.
Q: Can We Sing Along?
-Strongly encouraged. crowd participation is part of the sentence.
Q: Are you a cover band?
- We prefer the term “musically unpredictable.” Originals, reimagined classics, deep cuts, and songs that deserve another spin around the classroom.
Q: what events do you play at?
- Festivals, Theatres, Weddings, Community Events, Coporate Parties, and questionable dance floors. if people are gathering, we're interested.
